Manhattn’s Burgers, Brussels, Belgium.
Now this mad burger dash was not a planned trip at all. We where having some drinks with family at our local ( just 15 meters down the road from us) watering hole, company was great, drinks was awesome as always, but unfortunately this fine establishment does not serve food. Anyways after drinks and goodbyes I looked over at man-love and announce that I have not started dinner yet… The look of pure horror on that mans face was priceless.
So now I am a little buzzy from my drinks, so I just announce well I am not going to cook now and I want a burger, all in one long weird unrecognizable sentence. Lucky for man-love he did not put up a fight over that statement, but rather started Googeling burger places near us, this was at 20:30 in the evening on a Friday night!
He came across this Manhattn Burgers site and they are open till 22:30! So in the car we hopped and made a mad dash- figuratively speaking of course- to go fulfill my burger craving!
Now the place was packed and it is a first come first fight for a seat kind of establishment, no bookings! Just show up place your order at the counter and find a spot to park yo ass…
The staff are super friendly, the menu consists of burgers and salads and milkshakes, unfortunately they where out of ice cream so no milkshake for us that night, but the burger made up for the lack of cold sweet dairy products.
The star of the show was definitely the burger! It was juicy, meaty, cheesy and all round just… it was a good burger okey. We just dug in with our hands, no utensils needed. Chips where ordered on the side and it was a delicious mouthful of everything I needed on a Friday night while buzzing from my family drinks.
I will definitely be back, next time I’m really hoping for the milkshake too.
Some afterthoughts…
Parking is a problem, they do say over 300 parking spots on the website, but its street parking and was super full when we where looking. Seating is an even bigger problem, you can’t reserve a table so you must go super early or super late otherwise you will not find a spot to sit. We spend about 15 minutes waiting for 2 seats to open up, there is no waiting area so you kind of just hang around staring at all the patrons having their burgers. Apart from parking and waiting, I loved the vibe and the food, it was a trip well worth dashing for.
