Mixco Restaurant, Antwerp, Belgium.
The restaurant describes themselves as an Urban Mexican Taste and all I can say is YUM. It satisfied all my Mexican cravings!
I normally look into the places that we eat at, but this was truly a little unexpected gem, not planned just walked in because I liked the sinage out side.
The waitress was super friendly and we had first pick of seats as we got there as they opened. And super lucky we went early ‘cos 30 minutes later they where full and buzzing with a fun vibe.
They only have 2 drinks on the menu- the classic Margarita and a Napoleon Lost- don’t worry I did not know what it was either, but it was amazing! Now I am not a tequila drinker, but it was so good that I had 2 and only noticed the tequila when I could not find the car…
Now on to the main event… FOOD!
We ordered a few things to share, just a side note the portions are small so ordering a few plates is a good idea. We started with the nacho’s, amazingly cheesy and the guacamole was creamy and spicy, just the way mamma likes it.
We followed that with a BBQ pulled pork tortilla and finished it off with a Scampi and salsa special that was on the board. All in all the experience, food and drink where good.
Some after thought…
The restaurant is tiny so either get there early or make a booking. The menu does come in English so again always a plus for me. Lastly the menu is as small as the restaurant, but the food is amazing and we will definitely be back.
