There’s something fishy in the chips…

Bia Mara Restaurant, Brussels, Belgium.

So how did we end up with Fish and Chips you ask? Well I was talking to my Granny and she informed me that they where having fish’n chips for her birthday, so this made me a little home sick, what do you do when you are home sick and crave homey food… Yes, you Google the nearest place which offers said craving of food, in this case good old fashion Fish’n Chips!

I came across Bia Mara and at only 25 minutes away it was a done deal. Now the place has a really nice vibe and setting to it and in the summer times I would definitely make use of the cool pick-nick bench seating outside, but as luck would have it it was a cool 4 degrees out side so inside we went.

I do have to say I was a little disappointing, the menu says please ask for cocktail menu, but I was informed by the almost friendly waiter that no there is no cocktail menu, but he has Gin and Vodka so what do I want… I ended up with a home made lemonade with a splash of vodka- not too bad.

Now the menu really mainly consists of fish and chips options, with a few sides like slaw and calamari, but we went there for fish and chips so that is what we ordered!

All things considered it was okey, I was dying for some vinegar with my chips, but sadly no this is not possible, overall the meal was good and look and feel of the place is hip and viby. Do I feel that I got my moneys worth? Sadly no, but who know maybe next time I’ll stumble across Fish’n Chips the way my granny makes it.

Some after thoughts…

Parking was almost easy to find, there was no Parkade near us,bu we managed to find parking in the street. Not all the staff was friendly, but hey some people just have off days I suppose and lastly it is located in between a few other pubs and bars so plenty of vibe all around.
